Consciousness: Inner Fundamentals

A Solo Exhibition by Kwizera, Powered by MoTIV

Consciousness is one of the most familiar yet elusive subjects concerning the human mind, but in essence, it is us being present and knowing that we are, it may also be the structures of the unconscious mind which are shared among beings of the same species this theory was put forth by Carl Jung as the collective subconscious.

The artist Kwizera subscribes to an almost panpsychist worldview, panpsychism can be defined as this; the view that all things have a mind or a mind-like quality. The word itself was coined by the Italian philosopher Francesco Patrizi in the sixteenth century, and it is derived from the two Greek words pan (all) and psyche (soul or mind). It is the doctrine that all matter has a mental aspect.

This in essence means that we may all be interconnected as species and even as existence itself, then how do we relate to nature and reality, how are these relationships affecting us, nature and reality itself? How are we changing and as we are doing so, is reality as we know it changing too? This what Kwizera explores in his body of work Consciousness, the fundamental interconnections and relationships between man and nature, the nature of man and that of the reality inhabited by man.

How conscious are we of the effects that we as a race and species have caused on the nature of ourselves and reality by our thirst for discovery and progress?

The “Consciousness, Inner Fundamentals” solo art exhibition by Kwiz Era is back and better. Do not miss the opportunity to witness great art and performances from The body of Brian, 1Der JR, and Afrikane UG. All this is happening on 8th and 9th January 2021 at MoTIV maker space in Bugolobi.
